چکیده

• Developments of micro-scale expanders in carbon dioxide cycles are summarized. Comparison between turbines and volumetric analysed. Relations flow rate, pressure ratio rotational speed highlighted. Challenges future development directions for outlined. In recent decades, the cycles, including supercritical cycle, transcritical Rankine cycle refrigeration have been proven effective due to high efficiency compact structure, received increasing interests. The performance expander power particularly applications, is one essential components that determine still remains a significant challenge. This paper presents critical overview (<200 kW) cycles. Five types expanders, axial radial (dynamic expanders), scroll, piston vane (volumetric evaluated from experimental numerical aspects. Expansion mechanisms, speed, isentropic efficiency, mass rate considered. review suggests stand certain advantages more suitable potentially less leakage. For all internal external leakages remain vital challenge greatly reduce their which urgently needs be addressed.

Performance Investigation of Two Two-Stage Trans-Critical Carbon Dioxide Refrigeration Cycles Ejector and Internal Heat Exchanger

In the present work, the performances of improved two-stage multi inter-cooler trans- critical carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigeration cycles with ejector and internal heat exchanger have been examined. In the new improved cycles, an internal heat exchanger is append to the cycles. Also, second inter-cooler in improved cycles, cooled with the refrigeration of the cycle, so that in first c...

A Transcritical Refrigeration Cycle with Carbon Dioxide for Bus Air Conditioning and Transport Refrigeration

The frrst part of this paper presents carbon dioxide air conditioning units which were installed in two city buses. The two buses were tested "on-the-road" during summer 1997 in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. By the end of 1997, the air condition systems of the two buses had been running together for more than 860 hours proving that C02 systems fulfill important on-the-road requirements. In the second ...

Transient Simulation of a Transcritical Carbon Dioxide Refrigeration System

Transient simulations of refrigeration cycles are crucial for evaluating new refrigerants. Previously developed transient simulation tool was capable of simulating refrigeration systems using refrigerants R22 and R134a and was validated with experimental data; however, incorporating non-traditional refrigerants such as R744 (carbon dioxide) change the cycle operation beyond the capabilities of ...

Using Carbon Dioxide in a Transcritical Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycle

For most of the last fifty years, refrigeration and heat pump systems have been based on cycles using a fluorocarbon as the working fluid. Hovvever, with the discovery that fluorocarbons may have a profoundly detrimental effect on the earth ·s atmosphere. it has become necessary to find a suitable replacement for a fluorocarbon based refrigeration cycle. Such a replacement must perform comparab...

Interglacials, Milankovitch Cycles, and Carbon Dioxide

The existing understanding of interglacial periods is that they are initiated by Milankovitch cycles enhanced by rising atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations. During interglacials, global temperature is also believed to be primarily controlled by carbon dioxide concentrations, modulated by internal processes such as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and the North Atlantic Oscillation. Recent ...
